The Student Employment and Training Department is responsible for all aspects of training university students and facilitating their employment. The Director for Employment and Training oversees the Training, Sponsorship, Career Counselling, and Employment units. The Training unit is tasked with facilitating on-the-job training for students through COOP, Internship, or Summer training programs, ensuring quality measures are maintained throughout the process.
The Career Counselling and Employment units organize events such as Career Fairs, manage job postings, and conduct lectures and workshops. Meanwhile, the Sponsorship unit acts as a liaison between sponsoring agencies, university departments, and students. It promotes the program, assists sponsors in connecting with students, and handles requests for sponsor authorizations for changes like major modifications, semester drops, or course withdrawals. The Sponsorship unit plays a critical role in maintaining communication and coordination between students, training companies, and academic departments.
