International Day of Persons with Disabilities

In celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the Deanship of Student Affairs at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals organized an exhibition through the Al-ula Club. The event featured the participation of prominent organizations, including the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center in Dammam, the Saudi Association for Hearing Impairment, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Association, their families, the Sawaed Charity, and Shamaa Autism Rehabilitation. The Volunteering Unit and the Sada Volunteering Team were also present.

 

Dr. Abdulrahman bin Faisal Al-Bitar, Chairman of the Disability Committee, alongside Mr. Ali bin Omar Al-Ghushairi, Director-General of Student Affairs. Together, they explored the services provided by these participating organizations to support individuals with disabilities.

 

The event garnered significant attention and participation from students, faculty, and staff. Visitors explored the centers and associations, sought collaboration opportunities, and expressed interest in contributing to initiatives aimed at empowering individuals with disabilities.

 

The event concluded with appreciation souvenirs for the participating organizations. Plans for sustained collaboration between the university and these institutions were also discussed, aiming to expand support for this vital segment of society.
