The Social Club held a gathering organized by the Deema organization focusing on the book named "The Anxiety of Striving for Status". A panel discussion started with an insightful exploration of life and the pursuit of status, delving into the underlying causes of status anxiety, such as lack of validation and excessive pride.

The conversation then delved into an examination of the historical context of status anxiety, highlighting how in ancient and medieval times, social standing was predetermined, leading to minimal concern about one's economic or social status. However, in today's democratic societies with fluctuating social mobility, many individuals experience guilt for not meeting perceived societal expectations and for lacking widely valued possessions. The discussion also addressed the impact of social media on exacerbating this issue.

Furthermore, after a comprehensive review of the root causes and historical backdrop of status anxiety, participants brainstormed potential solutions. One prominent solution emphasized the importance of aligning one's achievements with a deeper purpose rather than solely focusing on material success. The group also emphasized the importance of preserving Arab and Islamic identities as society progresses and globalizes.
